WF79: Perform Load from Library

Pre-Requisites

  • A. MADE Project: a configured project with defined model items to enable Load from Library.

Detailed Steps

  1. Access Load from Library — start by launching the workflow from the top menu bar via File > Load from Library. This opens the Load from Library Wizard, a guided sequence for replacing or augmenting model items in the current MADE project using items from the Library or Palette.
  2. Select Action — choose the type of operation to perform:
    • Replace Data: Overwrites selected resource data in the project item with data from the mapped Library/Palette item.
    • Append Data: Adds new data to existing project resources without deleting them (only valid for Functions, Failures, Hazards, Maintenance).
  3. Select Data Categories — select one or more resources to update or append. MADE categorizes item data into key resources: Items, RAMs, Criticality, Functions, Failures, Maintenance.
  4. Perform Item Mapping — map the Library/Palette items to MADE project items via drag and drop.
  5. Overview and Review — verify the selected action, data categories, and item mappings. Ensure the planned operation aligns with your intent, and check that the data you want to transfer is mapped correctly.
  6. Finish and Execute — once confirmed, MADE processes the selections and updates the project items accordingly. After completion, review the summary to see which items were updated and what resources were changed.
  7. Load from Library Implemented — target model parameter(s) of project items are replaced or appended with updated values from Palette or Library.

Screen-by-screen detail (from embedded screenshots)

  • Step 1: Access Load from Library — Main menu: File > Load from Library (alongside New, Open, Close Project, Close All Editors, Save All, Save Project As, Save to Library, Import, Export, recent project e.g. "MADE Training.made", Exit).
  • Step 2: Select Action — "MADE - Load from Library Wizard", "Select Action" page: "The Load from Library wizard enables you to bring selected data from items stored in the Palette or Library into your current MADE Project. You can choose to either replace the existing data on the selected items or append to it." Load Method radio buttons: "Replace Data" (selected, default — "The existing data in selected Project item will be overwritten with data from the matching Palette/Library item.") or "Append Data" ("Data from the matching Palette/Library item will be appended to selected Project item without removing any existing data. (Only applicable for Functions, Failures, and Maintenance)").
  • Step 3: Select Data Categories — "Select Data" page: checkbox list — Items ("Items include general information about the item. i.e. Name, Description, LRU, Vendor, etc."), RAMS ("...reliability & availability information of the item. i.e. MTTF, MTTR, Failure Rate, etc."), Criticality ("...incorporates the criticality state of the item. i.e. Critical, Safety Critical, Mission Critical, etc."), Functions ("...functional information of the item. i.e. Function, Flows, Flow Property, etc."), Failures ("...contain a list of failure concepts for the item. i.e. Faults, Failure Conditions, Symptoms, etc."), Maintenance ("...maintenance information of the item. i.e. Maintenance Actions, Maintenance Tasks, etc."). "Select All" / "Deselect All" buttons.
  • Step 4: Perform Item Mapping — "Perform Item Mapping" page: "Drag and drop Palette/Library items into item mapping area and press 'Next' to continue." Left pane "Palette & MADE Library" with "Auto-search in Palette/Library for selected item" checkbox and search box; tree of sources (Palette, Austal, ISSS Library, Library Mapper > Components > Accumulator/Bearing/Catchpot/Component_parts/LV09FLA/New Component, Parts > Agitator [selected], Systems, MADE Example Systems). Right pane "Item Mapping" table (Current Project [Target Item], Palette/Library [Source Item]) — e.g. Top Level System > Component A -> Accumulator, Component B -> Bearing, Component C -> Catchpot, Component D -> (unmapped), Component E -> (unmapped), Part X -> Agitator. "Clear Selected" / "Clear All" buttons.
  • Step 5: Overview and Review — "Overview" page: "Selected Action" summary ("Replace Data: The existing data in selected Project item will be overwritten with data from the matching Palette/Lib..."). "Summary" table (Current Project [Target Items], Status) listing each mapped item and its data categories (e.g. Part X > Items, RAMS, Criticality, Functions, Failures, Maintenance; Component A > same categories; Component B...), Status column initially blank pending execution.
  • Step 6: Finish and Execute — Click Finish. "Result" page: "Wizard Complete. Review summary of the operation and press 'Close'." Summary table now shows Status per category per item — e.g. "Agitator": Items Complete, RAMS Complete, Criticality Complete, Functions Complete, Failures Complete, Maintenance "Skipped - This data could not be applied for select..."; "Accumulator": all categories Complete; "Bearing": Items/RAMS/Criticality Complete (partial view). Click Close.
