WF62: FHA Assumptions

Pre-Requisites

• A. MADE Project: a configured project.

Detailed Steps

1. Navigate to Preferences in the task bar and select Project Preferences.
2. Navigate to Functional Hazard Assessment and select Assumptions. Click on the '+' icon to create a new assumption.
3. Provide an ID, name, description, failure condition property from the drop-down, comments, and remarks for the selected assumption. Attach documents to support the assumption.
4. Decision — All Assumptions created? If no, continue creating assumptions relevant to the functional model (return to Step 2). If yes, proceed to Step 5.
5. All the assumptions for the functional model have been created.

• Step 1: Open Project Preferences — Main menu: Preferences > Project Preferences (alongside Annotation Policy, Library Management, Modeling Preferences, Organization Details, Warning Preferences, Bond Analysis Preferences, FCM Threshold Preferences, Criticality Profile Editor, Customize Taxonomy). In the "Preferences (Filtered)" dialog tree: Bond Analysis, Criticality, FCM Analysis, Functional Hazard Assessment (expandable: Assumptions, Control Measures, Failure Effects, Safety Criteria, Substantiation Actions), Modeling, Naming Templates, Reliability, Reporting. Selecting "Functional Hazard Assessment" shows a summary page "Configure FHA project preferences" with hyperlinks to Assumptions, Control Measures, Failure Effects, Safety Criteria, Substantiation Actions.
• Step 2: Create Assumption — Select "Assumptions" node. "FHA Assumptions" panel: "Create and/or edit Assumptions that can be associated with FHA Failure Conditions" table (ID, Name, Description) with green '+' / edit / delete icons. Click '+' to open "Create Assumption" dialog.
• Step 3: Define Assumption — "Create Assumption" dialog fields: ID (e.g. "ASM_01"), Name (e.g. "Engine's horsepower and torque"), Description (e.g. "The engine's horsepower and torque output are sufficient to meet the vehicle's performance requirements and allow it to accelerate and maintain desired speeds under typical driving conditions"), Failure Condition Property dropdown (e.g. "Unspecified"), Comments (e.g. "Include data or metrics that demonstrate the Diesel Engine's power and its impact on overall performance."), Remarks (e.g. "Assumption is acceptable for the training model"), Documents table (Attachment / Date added) with add/upload/remove icons. Click OK. A second example: ID "ASM_02", Name "Fuel efficiency", Description about fuel system/combustion optimization.
• Step 5: Assumptions created — Back in the "FHA Assumptions" list, both created assumptions appear (e.g. ASM_02 "Fuel efficiency" and ASM_01 "Engine's horsepower and torque" with their descriptions). Click Apply and Close.
