3.3.8 Proposed Maintenance

"8. Proposed Maintenance" is the final page of the NAVSEA Road Map tab and coincides with the final step in the NAVSEA Road Map ("Schedule Task"). This page contains 4 main sections for the user to review the change recommendations and associated maintenance actions (if applicable):

  • Change Recommendation
  • Proposed Maintenance Action
  • Proposed Maintenance Narrative
  • Maintenance Action Comparison

3.3.8.1 Change Recommendation

This section shows the recommended changes for the maintenance action analyzed in the current Back-Fit RCM analysis and evaluates whether the proposed maintenance action conforms to this recommendation.

3.3.8.2 Proposed Maintenance Action

This section shows all the details available for the currently assigned Maintenance Action to address the failure path analyzed. Users can create a new maintenance action or select/modify a current maintenance action from the drop-down list.

If the proposed maintenance action diverges from the existing maintenance action, a side-by-side comparison of the maintenance details will be shown in the Maintenance Action Comparison section.

3.3.8.3 Proposed Maintenance Narrative

This section allows the user to document the rationale for selecting the proposed maintenance action by entering text into the alphanumeric field.

3.3.8.4 Maintenance Action Comparison

This section compares the existing maintenance action to the proposed maintenance action (if applicable) to address the failure path in the Back-Fit RCM analysis for the selected maintainable item. The table contains four main columns which show the maintenance attributes, existing and proposed maintenance action attribute values, and a delta column to show the positive/negative change in any attributes.

At the end of this step, it is beneficial to return to the first page "1. Identify Failure Mode" to select the next failure path to be analyzed in the Back-Fit RCM analysis.
