Screen-by-screen detail (from embedded screenshots)
- Step 1: Open Mission Profile Definition — Main menu: Modeling > Mission Profile Definition (alongside New Connection, New Item, New RBD Group, Activate Failure Diagram, Hazard Diagram, Functional Diagram, Requirements, System Environment, Unit Life Parameter, System Model, Bond Graph, Failure Diagram, Functions, ABD Model, RBD Model, Maintenance Actions, System Maintenance Editor, Environment Library, Sensor Library, Annotations). Alternatively right-click system in Project Explorer > "Mission Profiles" (tooltip: "Open Mission Profile Definitions for the System").
- Step 2: Create New Group — In "Mission Profile Definition" tab, "Mission Profile Manager" panel has buttons New, New Group, Import, Open, Copy, Delete, plus a Type/Name/Modified table. Click "New Group".
- Step 3: Define Group — "Mission Profile Definition - New Group" view: "Mission Group Details" (Name e.g. "New Group", "Use proportional mission durations" checkbox, Duration field, Σ total field, Description); "Related Documents and Images" panels (Documents / Images tables with add/upload/remove icons); below, a "Mission Profile Groups" table listing available mission profiles to include (Name, Type, Σ Parameter, Σ Total, Total Mission Duration, Mission Cycles, Group Cycles, Group Ratio, Group Duration) — example entries "Long Trip" (Distance, 448.00 Kilometers, 5hr 12min 40sec) and "Regular Trip" (Distance, 112.00 Kilometers, 1hr 10min 10sec).
- Step 4: Select Mission Profile(s) — Check the checkboxes next to desired mission profiles in the table (e.g. Long Trip and Regular Trip both checked). Resulting Group Cycles/Group Ratio/Group Duration columns populate (e.g. Long Trip: Mission Cycles 4.0, Group Cycles 5.00, Group Ratio 28.6%, Group Duration 1day 2hr 3min; Regular Trip: Mission Cycles 1.0, Group Cycles 50.00, Group Ratio 71.4%, Group Duration 2day 17hr 8min).
- Step 6: Enter Group Cycles — Directly edit the "Group Cycles" cell for a mission profile (e.g. Long Trip Group Cycles = 5.00, Regular Trip Group Cycles = 50.00) to set explicit numbers of mission cycles within the group.
- Step 7: Enter Group Ratio — Check "Use proportional mission durations" checkbox at the top (Mission Group Details) to switch to ratio-based entry; edit the "Group Ratio" cell directly (e.g. Long Trip Group Ratio = 40.0 (40%), Regular Trip Group Ratio = 60.0 (60%)) — Group Cycles and Group Duration recalculate automatically (e.g. Long Trip: Group Cycles 7.00, Group Duration 1day 12hr 28min; Regular Trip: Group Cycles 42.00, Group Duration 2day 9hr 43min; overall group Duration 91.194 hours, Total Distance 7839.99 Kilometers).
Outputs
