Installing a New Library

A new library can be created from the application preferences to access library

elements, including parts, components, subsystems and systems.

Follow the prompts in the MADE Library Wizard when creating a new Library. See steps

below.

1. Open the Application Preferences then selecting Libraries from the menu on the left (Preferences → Application Preferences → Libraries)

2. Select "Create new Library" on the right side to open the MADE Library Wizard [Image: createnewlibrary.png]

3. Select "Browse" or enter the directory path where the library database file will be saved then select Next to continue Note: a default directory is recommended and is saved under a MADE

sub-folder in the local Program Files.

4. Fill in the following Library information fields:
5. Library Name: The name of the Library
6. Database Name: The name of the Database that will be stored on the PostgreSQL server (Default: made)
7. Login Details: (Optional) - *Use default MADE login: * A default user name and password can be used rather than specifying your own Note: Do not use this option if additional

security is required. - *Username: *The username used to login to the MADE Library (Default: made) - *Password: *The password used to login to the MADE Library 5. Press the "Validate Settings" button to confirm your new Library details then press Finish [Image: CreateLibrary_Wizard4.png]

6. Select OK in the Application Preferences editor to return to the system model [Image: createnewlibrary.png]

7. After creating a new library, it will require an update before model elements can be saved to it - select the Update Wizard to from the Library Controls section to open the Library Update Wizard and follow the prompts [Image: CreateLibrary_Wizard6.png]

8. Verify that the updated library is visible from the Library Viewer [Image: CreateLibrary_Wizard9.png]
