WF31: Create MADE Library
Pre-requisites
- Storage Location: available storage location that will be accessible by the software.
- Existing Libraries: libraries that have been previously developed and now require access to be granted.
Detailed Descriptions (numbered steps)
- Access through 'Library Management', under the 'Preferences' tab of the Menu bar.
- Create a library with the 'Create Library' button.
- Click 'Browse..' button to assist in setting the location or manually input the directory of the database / library (server-based libraries may experience network delays).
- Define the Library details. Note: Library and Database names must be unique.
- Add an existing library, using 'Add Library', under 'Library Controls'. Use the 'Browse..' button to define the location of the MADE library database file.
- Validate Library Details so there are no conflicts with existing libraries, then click 'Finish' to finalise setting up the library.
- Check the libraries to 'activate' them, specifying which libraries are to be connected upon start-up of MADE.
- Delete library if not applicable to your applications.
- Once all required libraries have been defined, use 'Apply and Close' to finalize the management of the MADE Library.

Step 1: Access Library Management

Step 2: Create Library
- "Preferences (Filtered)" dialog, left nav: Annotation Policy, Auto Save, Features, General, Language, Libraries (selected), Modeling, Organization Details, Problems, Propagation Table, RCM, Reporting, User Profile. "Libraries" panel — "Library Management" table (Library/Type/Host/Database/Version) empty. "Library Controls": Create Library (highlighted), Add Library, Edit Library, Remove Library, Update Wizard. Note: "Use tick box to automatically connect library on load." Buttons "Apply and Close", "Cancel".
Step 3: Define File Location
- "MADE Library Wizard" — "Create New Library": "Welcome to the MADE Library wizard." "Database Directory": File Location "C:\Users\Public\MADE\Library", "Browse..." button. Buttons Back, Next (highlighted), Finish, Cancel.
Step 4: Define Library Details
- "MADE Library Wizard" — "Please provide your new database information below." "Library Details": Library Name "Training Library", Database Name "training" (Default: made). "Login Details": checkbox "Use default MADE login?" (checked), Username/Password fields greyed with "Default: made" note, checkbox "Save Password" (checked, greyed). Button "Validate Settings". Buttons Back, Next, Finish, Cancel.
Step 5: Add Existing Library
- "Preferences (Filtered)" dialog: "Libraries" panel, "Add Library" button highlighted. "Add New Library" dialog: "H2 Database" tab. Library name "Sample Library", Choose File "C:\Users\Public\MADE\Library\Sample Library.h2.db", "Browse..." button. Checkbox "Default MADE login" (checked). "User account details": Username, Password (greyed), checkbox "Save password" (greyed). Button "Validate settings". Buttons OK, Cancel.
Step 6: Validate Settings
- "MADE Library Wizard" — "Create New Library": "All information provided is valid. Please select Finish to continue." Library Name "Training Library", Database Name "training" (Default: made), Login Details as before. Button "Finish" (highlighted).
- "Add New Library" dialog — "Add New Library": "Connection to the library was successful." Library name "Sample Library", Choose File "C:\Users\Public\MADE\Library\Sample Library.h2.db". Button "OK" (highlighted).
Step 7: Activate Library
- "Preferences (Filtered)" dialog: "Library Management" table: Sample Library (H2, Host "C:\Users\Publi...", Database "Sample Library", Version "3.8.10.R005", checkbox unchecked); Training Library (H2, Host "C:\Users\Publi...", Database "training", Version "3.8.10.R005", checkbox checked/highlighted). Buttons "Apply and Close" (highlighted), "Cancel".
Step 8: Delete Library
- "Preferences (Filtered)" dialog: "Library Management" table with Sample Library (unchecked) and Training Library (checked, selected/highlighted). "Remove Library" button highlighted. Second instance shows Sample Library removed, only Training Library remains (checked) in the table.
Step 9: MADE Library Created
- "Library" tab (alongside Palette, Outline tabs): Search field. Tree: "MADE Example Systems [v3.8.10]" (collapsed); "Training Library [v3.8.10]" (expanded, highlighted) > Components, Parts, Systems folders.
