4.14 Application Preferences
MADE includes the ability to create contributor roles, maintenance locations, and maintenance personnel, and save them at the application level so that this information will be readily available for use during any MBRCM analysis within the software. Contributor roles can be exported and imported as JSON files.
4.14.1 Contributor Roles
Contributor roles are assigned to the contributors involved in MBRCM (see 4.4.2 Contributors).
To create a contributor role
- Navigate to Task Menu and select Preferences > Application Preferences
- Select RCM > Contributor Roles (Figure 86)
- Click the New icon
- Enter a name: e.g. "Reliability Engineer" (Figure 87)
- Enter a description: e.g. "Description for the role of Reliability Engineer."
- Click Ok
- Click Apply and Close to save
To edit a contributor role
- Click Edit
- Edit the details as per the requirement
- Click Ok
To delete a contributor role
- Click Delete
- Click Ok
To export contributor roles (JSON format)
- Click Export
- Browse to the desired location to save the export file
- Enter a file name
- Click Save
- Open the export file to view the data
To import contributor roles (JSON format)
- Click Import
- Browse to the desired location
- Select the file
- Click Open
- View the data in MADE
4.14.2 RCM Configurations
RCM Configurations lists all MSG-3 and RCM II configurations and allows users to import custom configurations into MADE for RCM analyses. Only JSON format is supported (Figure 88).
To import a configuration (JSON format)
- Navigate to Task Menu and select Preferences > Application Preferences
- Select RCM > RCM Configurations
- Click Import
- Browse to the desired location
- Select the file
- Click Open
4.14.3 Maintenance Locations
Maintenance Locations created in Application Preferences are available for selection in MBRCM (see 4.9.1.6), Maintenance Actions, and Back-fit RCM.
To create a maintenance location
- Navigate to Task Menu and select Preferences > Application Preferences
- Select Modelling > Maintenance Locations (Figure 89)
- Click New
- Enter a name: e.g. "Location 1" (Figure 90)
- Enter a description: e.g. "Description of Location 1."
- Click Ok
- Click Apply and Close to save
To edit a maintenance location
- Click Edit
- Edit the details as per the requirement
- Click Ok
To delete a maintenance location
- Click Delete
- Click Ok
To export maintenance locations (JSON format)
- Click Export
- Browse to the desired location to save the export file
- Enter a file name
- Click Save
- Open the export file to view the data
To import maintenance locations (JSON format)
- Click Import
- Browse to the desired location
- Select the file
- Click Open
- View the data in MADE

4.14.4 Maintenance Personnel
Maintenance Personnel created in Application Preferences are available for selection in MBRCM (see 4.9.1.6), Maintenance Actions, and Back-fit RCM.
To create maintenance personnel
- Navigate to Task Menu and select Preferences > Application Preferences
- Select Modelling > Maintenance Personnel (Figure 92)
- Click New
- Enter a name: e.g. "Personnel 1" (Figure 93)
- Enter a skill code: e.g. "SC101"
- Enter a rate: e.g. "10"
- Click Ok
- Click Apply and Close to save
To edit maintenance personnel
- Click Edit
- Edit the details as per the requirement
- Click Ok
To delete maintenance personnel
- Click Delete
- Click Ok
To export maintenance personnel (JSON format)
- Click Export
- Browse to the desired location to save the export file
- Enter a file name
- Click Save
- Open the export file to view the data
To import maintenance personnel (JSON format)
- Click Import
- Browse to the desired location
- Select the file
- Click Open
- View the data in MADE
