WF43: Set the Requirement Import Configuration

Pre-Requisites

• A. MADE Project: a configured project.

Detailed Steps

1. Access the MADE Application Preferences under 'Preferences' in the main menu bar.
2. Select the Requirements Import configuration under Modeling > Import > Requirement.
3. Create a new Requirements import configuration by selecting the + icon.
4. Define the Import Configuration file details with the following: Name*, Description, Worksheet name of the requirements import*, and number of header rows* in the import document.
5. Define the requirements configuration mapping according to the columns in the import document. The configuration mapping includes the following fields: Requirement ID*, Requirement Name*, DID No., DID Title, Classification, Description, and Pre-requisite.
6. Requirements Import Configuration is set.

• Step 1: Access Application Preferences — Main menu: Preferences > Application Preferences. In the Preferences (Filtered) dialog, navigate to Modeling. Example settings visible here: Font, Default Measurement Unit (Imperial), System Element Text Width, New Items option, Project Explorer Double Click Action, Connections settings (Selected Connection Type, Line Style, Flow Connection Label Text), and Diagram Editors option "Automatically expand Collapsible Panel".
• Step 2: Select Requirement Import — In the Preferences tree: Modeling > Import > Requirement. Shows "Requirement Import Configurations" table with columns Default / Name / Columns, and toolbar icons (add, edit, duplicate, import, export, delete).
• Step 3: Create New Requirements Import Configuration — Click the green '+' ("Add a new configuration") icon.
• Step 4: Define Requirement Import Configuration Details — In the "Requirement Import Configuration" dialog, set: Name (e.g. "Generic Import"), Description (e.g. "Import Worksheet for generic requirements"), Worksheet (e.g. "Sheet1"), Header Rows (e.g. 1). A column mapping table below has columns: Column, Name, MADE Property, Type, Validation, Configuration — initially with "There are no configured columns for any of the worksheets" warning until columns are added via the green '+' / red 'x' / up/down arrow controls.
• Step 5: Define Requirement Import Configuration Mapping — Example populated mapping: Column A -> MADE Property "Requirement ID" (Type Text, Validation N/A); B -> "Requirement Name" (Text, Validation "Non-empty"); C -> "DID No" (Text, N/A); D -> "DID Title" (Text, N/A); E -> "Requirement Description" (Text, N/A); F -> "Requirement Classification" (Text, N/A); G -> "Prerequisite" (Text, N/A). Click OK to save.
