4.6.9 Diagnostic Sets Page
The Diagnostic Sets page displays the coverage of the sensors in each Sensor Set. By viewing each individual Sensor Set and selecting a failure, MADE will show the expected responses of the system and the associated diagnostic rules used to identify each failure. Cells shaded in green represent failure responses from other items in the system that need to be detected in order for a specific failure to be detected — the shading and diagnostic rules change when minimization is applied.
To view diagnostic sets:
- Select a sensor set from the Sensor Set section
- View the Diagnostic Sets
- Toggle the List or Tree icons to change the table arrangement
- Select "Minimize diagnostic rules" to view unique failure responses in the system
To export diagnostic sets:
- Select a sensor set from the Sensor Set section
- Select the Numeric Response icon to export responses in numerical form (-1, 0, 1)
- Select Export and enter a filename in the export dialog
To view the diagnostic rules:
- Select a sensor set from the Sensor Set section
- Select a component (row) in the Diagnostic Sets section
- View the rules in the Diagnostic Rule section
4.6.10 Metric Optimization Page
This Metric Optimization page provides the user with the ability to filter the list of sensor sets by various performance metrics to determine which sets provide the best fit to the system. The page is divided into the following sections: Display Options, Filters, Sensor Set Details, and Sensor Sets.
4.6.10.1 Display Options Section
This section contains an "Include Legacy Sensor Set" checkbox. Selecting this checkbox will include the Legacy Sensor Set (which contains component/subsystem test point sensors) in the Sensor Sets table.
4.6.10.2 Filters Section
This section displays cost, weight and coverage criteria that the user can set to limit or filter the number of sensor sets.
To set a filter criterion:
- Select the checkbox for Max Cost, Max Weight, or Min Coverage
- Enter a value in the numerical field (cost & coverage) and set the measurement unit (weight)
- Verify changes in Sensor Sets table & star sensor sets that meet this criterion
- Select the Reset Filters button to reset all criteria
- Delete un-starred sensor sets
4.6.10.3 Sensor Set Details Section
This section is similar to the section found in the Sensor Set Analysis page (see section 4.6.5.3.1).
4.6.11 Comparison Page
The Comparison Page is used to visualize trade-offs between optimized sensor sets. The user can conduct comparisons between sensor sets against the following criteria: coverage, number of sensors, cost of sensors, weight of sensors, probability of detection, and cost of detection.
To select Sensor Sets for comparison:
- Select the checkbox for each sensor set to be included in a comparison/trade-study
- View the bar graphs for each category
- Select Export & specify a filename and directory to save an image of each bar graph
