4.7 User-defined Diagnostic Analysis

The user-defined diagnostic analysis is a method to manually create one or more sensor sets. Each sensor set can be allocated with a distinct combination of sensors for all test points covered by the analysis. It is up to the user to choose how each sensor set is optimized and has full control over which sets to compare. User-defined diagnostic analyses share most of the pages used for automated diagnostic analysis — the main differences are highlighted in the sections below.

To create a new User-defined Diagnostic analysis:

  1. Select New
  2. Select the checkbox for level of indenture to be investigated in the system
  3. Select the User-defined radio-button, then select Next
  4. Enter the Name and Description for the analysis
  5. Verify the Propagation type (either Bond or FCM — this is automatically set)
  6. Select Finish to complete the process

4.7.1 Diagnostic Analysis Page

This page is similar to the Diagnostic Analysis Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.1).

4.7.2 Propagation Table Page

This page is similar to the Propagation Table Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.2).

4.7.3 Exclusions Page

This page is similar to the Exclusions Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.4).

4.7.4 Sensor Sets Page

The Sensor Sets Page is where manual sensor sets are created by the user. This page is a simplified version of the Sensor Set Analysis page found in the Automated diagnostic analysis, in that it does not contain an Analysis Parameters section. The Sensor Set Table is also simplified and does not contain Fitness and Starred columns — these are not required as sensor sets are generated manually.

To create a sensor set:

  1. Select the plus icon
  2. View the Sensor Sets table — it will show a new user-defined Sensor Set

To manage sensor sets in the Sensor Set table:

  • Select the copy icon to create a duplicate of a selected Sensor Set
  • Select the export icon to export the selected sensor set into its own user-defined diagnostic analysis
  • Select the delete icon to permanently remove the selected sensor set from the Sensor Set table

4.7.5 Sensor Allocation Page

The sections shown on this page (Sensor Library, Sensor Allocation, Items, Recently Used Sensors) are like the Sensor Allocation Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.7).

The main difference is that the user can select individual user-defined sensor sets and create combinations of allocated sensors that are different for each set.

To define a sensor set, the user must first select a sensor set from the available list at the top of the page. All other actions are similar to the Sensor Allocation Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis.

4.7.6 Ambiguity Groups Page

This page is similar to the Ambiguity Groups Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.6).

4.7.7 Sensor Parameters Page

The sections shown on this page (Allocated Sensors, Sensor Details, Parameters, Additional Sensor Information) are similar to the Sensor Parameters Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.8). The main difference is that the user can select individual user-defined sensor sets and modify their sensor parameters independent of the other sensor sets available.

To define sensor parameters, the user must first select a sensor set from the available list at the top of the page. All other actions are like the Sensor Parameter Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis.

4.7.8 Diagnostic Sets Page

This page is similar to the Diagnostic Sets Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.9).

4.7.9 Metric Optimization Page

This page is similar to the Metric Optimization Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.10).

4.7.10 Comparison Page

This page is similar to the Comparison Page for the Automated Diagnostic Analysis (see section 4.6.11).
