MADE 3.9.1 User Manual > Fault Tree
Fault Tree Cut Sets
A cut set is a specific branch of the Fault Tree which is sufficient to cause the
Top-Event to occur.
The cutset is defined by the initial 'Basic Event' i.e. component, part level
failure or a combination of Basic Events and the subsequent system responses that
cause it to trigger a system failure.
The user can enable the cut set view by selecting the 'Cut Sets' icon.
Alternatively, selecting the 'Hide Siblings' icon will only show the inherent cut sets
of the top effect.
