WF46: Requirements Verification

Pre-Requisites

  • A. MADE Project: a configured project with requirements associated with the system.

Detailed Steps

  1. Select 'Requirements' under 'Modeling' in the main menu bar. Alternatively, right-click the system from the Project Explorer and select 'Requirements'.
  2. Select a Requirement from the Requirements List.
  3. Enter the details of the selected requirement in the fields provided (DID No., DID Title, Description, Classification, Pre-requisite, Linked model items). Navigate through the tabs to select Mission Profile, Phases & Segments, Mission Events, and Mission Conditions.
  4. Decision — Is verification required for the selected requirement? If no, return to Step 2 and select the next requirement. If yes, proceed to the next step.
  5. Document the Verification method required for the selected requirement.
  6. Decision — Are attachments available for the Verification Method? If no, proceed to Step 8. If yes, proceed to the next step.
  7. Add attachments by selecting the + icon.
  8. Decision — All Verification Complete? If no, repeat the process from Step 2 until all necessary verification of requirements are complete. If yes, proceed.
  9. Requirements Verification complete.

  • Step 1: Access Requirements Landing Page — Project Explorer > right-click system (e.g. "[VS1] Vehicle System") > Requirements. Requirement List shows Req. ID / Name / Classification / Linked Model Items / Verification Method columns, plus a Dashboard pie chart (Allocated (2) / Unallocated (6) in example).
  • Step 2: Select Requirement — Select a row in the Requirement List, e.g. "Requirement 1.2.1 (Modified)" with Classification "Design" and Linked Model Items "Differential".
  • Step 3: Select Requirement Details — Requirement Details panel (bottom-left) shows editable fields: Requirement ID (locked/read-only, e.g. "1.2.1"), Requirement Name, DID No. (e.g. "Data Item Description"), DID Title (e.g. "FMECA for Machinery"), Description (e.g. "FMECA performed for heavy machinery to identify critical failures."). Tabs on the right: Requirements Summary, Mission Profile, Mission Events and Conditions, Verification.
  • Step 5: Document Verification Method — Under the "Verification" tab, enter the Verification Method (e.g. "FMECA") in the Verification Method field. An "Attachments" table (Attachment / Date added) appears below with add/remove icons.
  • Step 7: Add Attachments — Click the green '+' icon next to the Attachments table to add a file. Example: attachment "MIL-STD-1629A FMECA.pdf" added with Date added "April 02 2026, 14:00:49 KST".

Outputs

  • I. Requirements list: The requirements list is exported in .xlsx format (via the export icon in the Requirement List toolbar).
