WF51: Import Mission Profiles

Pre-Requisites

• A. MADE project file: A MADE project must have been created and saved to the user's local directory. The currently open MADE project may be used to source Mission Profiles if a separate system has been created.
• B. Existing Mission Profile: A Mission Profile must have already been created in the selected MADE project (see WF11: Create Mission Profiles).

Detailed Steps

1. Open 'Mission Profile Definition' under 'Modeling' in the menu, or through the Project Explorer (via right-click context menu on the System item).
2. Select the Import button to open the Mission Profile Import Wizard.
3. Navigate through local files to select a saved MADE project containing the Mission Profile to import.
4. Select the Mission Profile(s) to import into the current project.
5. Selected Mission Profile(s) and their dependencies will be imported into the current project as new missions. Solution-dependent information can now be added to tailor these profiles to the specific system.

• Step 1: Open Mission Profile Definition — Main menu: Modeling > Mission Profile Definition (alongside New Connection, New Item, New RBD Group, Activate Failure Diagram, Hazard Diagram, Functional Diagram, Requirements, System Environment, Unit Life Parameter, System Model, Bond Graph, Failure Diagram, Functions, RBD Model, Maintenance Actions, System Maintenance Editor, Environment Library, Sensor Library, Annotations). Alternatively right-click a system in Project Explorer and select "Mission Profiles" from the context menu (alongside New, System Model, Failure Diagram, Bond Graph, Functions, Requirements, Functional Diagram, Maintenance Actions, Cut/Copy/Paste, Delete, End Effect Item, Response Paths, Save to Library, Advanced Properties).
• Step 2: Open Mission Profile Import Wizard — In the "Mission Profile Definition" tab, the "Mission Profile Manager" panel has buttons: New, New Group, Import, Open, Copy, Delete, plus a Type/Name/Modified table. Click "Import". Right panel "Mission Profile Summary" shows Name, Active Mission Profile checkbox, Description, Related Documents and Images, and a "Mission Profile - Parameters Chart".
• Step 3: Select MADE Project File — "Import Mission Profile Wizard" page "Import Mission Profiles": Choose a file to import into your MADE project using the file browser below; File Location field with "Browse..." button. Standard Windows Open dialog filters to "*.made" files (example: "HowToUseMPD.made" selected from a "MPD Import" folder). After selection, click Next.
• Step 4: Select Mission Profile(s) — "Import Mission Profiles" page: "Select Mission Profiles or Groups to import below, then select Finish to proceed." Tree of available items under the source project (e.g. "MPD") with checkboxes in a "Selected" column: Mission1, Mission3, Test Mission Profile 1, Test Mission Profile 2, Mission2, Mission 4, Phases Test (unchecked), Test Mission (unchecked), Group2, Test Mission Group, Group1, Group of Group Import. "Select All" / "Deselect All" buttons available. Click Finish.
• Step 5: Mission Profile(s) Imported — Mission Profile Manager table now lists imported items with Type icons, Name, and Modified date/time (e.g. Group of Group Import, Group1, Group2, Test Mission Group, Mission1, Mission2, Mission3, Mission 4, Test Mission Profile 1, Test Mission Profile 2). Selecting an imported mission (e.g. "Mission1") populates the Mission Profile Summary: Name, Active Mission Profile checkbox, Description (e.g. "First mission used in the test model."), and a "Mission Profile - Parameters Chart" plotting a parameter (e.g. Distance (Kilometres)) against Phase or Segment (Elapsed Time).
