4.10 Trade Study
The Trade Study presents charts that summarize various maintenance strategies based on metrics such as maintenance type, cost, downtime, MTBM, availability, and reliability to determine the optimal approach/actions (Figure 81).
To view all the metrics:
- Select a Maintainable Item
- Click the corresponding action icon
- Select a failure mode
- Evaluate the metrics to select appropriate tasks for the failure mode
Note: All metrics associated with maintenance tasks are item-specific and are calculated using the item's own data. This enables accurate comparison and supports effective trade studies during the analysis.
4.11 RCM Summary
The RCM Summary provides a detailed overview of all maintainable items included in the analysis, their significant functions, failure mode effects category, assigned maintenance tasks, as well as information from the FMEA. It also allows for the customization of column headers to display specific information, application of tasks to the model, and export of data (Figure 82).
The Preferences section provides various options to filter by Potential MSI, set the indenture level, and set the columns in the summary table. The user can select multiple options to set the columns and additional columns.
To view all the metrics:
- Click the corresponding refresh/view icon
The RCM Analysis Summary section allows exporting all the displayed table information in .csv format:
- Click Export
- Browse to the desired location to save the export file
- Enter a file name
- Click Save
- Open the export file to view the data
4.12 RCM Audit
The RCM Audit provides the completion status of the functions and failure modes and lists all the changes made within the analysis for traceability.
4.12.1 Workflow — Completion Status
This section shows the status of all functions for maintainable items, including failure modes and their categories for the significant functions, updated dynamically based on the answers in the decision trees for function assessment (4.7.2) and failure mode assessment (4.8.2). The status of functions is classified as Significant, Non-significant, or Pending Decision, while the status of failure modes is Complete, In Progress, or Pending Decision.
It also includes the ability to export the status in .PNG format:
- Click Export
- Navigate to the destination location
- Click Save
(Figure 83: Workflow — Completion Status section)
4.12.2 Audit Log
This section outlines all the changes in the analysis for the selected contributor (see Contributors, 4.4.2). It also allows searching and filtering by date range and/or contributor.
Note: All changes must be saved to be reflected in the list.
It also includes the ability to export the status in .csv format:
- Click Export
- Navigate to the destination location
- Click Save

4.13 RCM Report
The RCM Analysis Report provides a detailed report of the RCM Analysis including Mission Profile, Maintenance Significant Items, Significant Functions, Failure Modes, RCM Task worksheets, and Maintenance Actions information.
To generate an RCM report:
- Navigate to Task Menu and select Report > Report Wizard
- Select RCM Analysis Report
- Click Next
- Select the analysis for which the report is to be generated
- Click Finish
