WF02: Configure New MADE Project
Pre-requisites
- MADE Software: Open MADE with a MADE license that has been validated by the MADE License Finder.
Detailed Descriptions (numbered steps)
- Select 'New' under 'File' in main menu bar. Alternatively, use the 'New' icon in the main toolbar.
- Define details of the new project that include the project directory, project name, etc. and then click 'Finish'.
- Select 'Project Properties' under 'Edit' in the main menu bar, define additional details and click 'OK'.
- Access 'Application Preferences' under 'Preferences' in main menu bar, set the MADE Application Preferences then click 'Apply and Close'.
- Access 'Project Preferences' under 'Preferences' in main menu bar, set the new MADE Project Preferences and click 'Apply and Close'.
- Select 'Save All' under 'File' in main menu bar to save all changes to the new MADE project. Alternatively, use the 'Save All' icon in the main toolbar.

Step 1: Create New MADE Project
- Main menu 'File': New (Ctrl+N), Open (Ctrl+O), Close Project, Close All Editors (Ctrl+Shift+W), Save All (Ctrl+S), Save Project As, Load from Library, Save to Library.
- Toolbar: 'New' icon tooltip shown next to Project Explorer.
Step 2: Define New MADE Project Details
- "New Project" dialog: "Press "Finish" to create your project." Fields: Project Directory (e.g.
C:\Users\Sam\Desktop), Project Name (e.g. "MADE Training"), System Name (e.g. "Vehicle System"), Analyst Name (e.g. "Sam"), Organization (e.g. "PHM Technology"), Currency dropdown. - Currency dropdown options listed: $ (???) - Generic Dollar, $ (AUD) - Australian Dollar, R$ (BRL) - Brazilian Real, ¥ (CNY) - Renminbi (Chinese Yuan), € (EUR) - Euro, £ (GBP) - Pound Sterling, Rp (IDR) - Indonesian Rupiah, ₹ (INR) - Indian Rupee, ¥ (JPY) - Japanese Yen, ₩ (KRW) - South Korean Won, $ (MXN) - Mexican Peso, RM (MYR) - Malaysian Ringgit, R (RUB) - Russian Ruble, kr (SEK) - Swedish Krona, ฿ (THB) - Thai Baht, ₺ (TRY) - Turkish Lira, $ (USD) - US Dollar, R (ZAR) - South African Rand, ¤ (XXX) - Unknown Currency.

Step 3: Define New MADE Project Properties
- Main menu 'Edit': Undo (Ctrl+Z), Redo (Ctrl+Y), Cut (Ctrl+X), Copy (Ctrl+C), Paste (Ctrl+V), Delete, Select All (Ctrl+A), Find/Replace, Search... (Alt+Shift+T), Advanced Properties, Project Properties.
- "[ProjectName] Properties" dialog — "Project Properties" section: Project Name, File name (e.g.
C:/Users/Sam/Desktop/MADE Training.made), Created version, Current version, Model version. "Created by" section: Company, Department, Analyst, Lock button, Approved By, Reference Drawing. Buttons: OK, Cancel.
Step 4: Set MADE Application Preferences
- Main menu 'Preferences': Application Preferences, Project Preferences, Annotation Policy, Library Management, Modeling Preferences, Organization Details, Warning Preferences, Bond Analysis Preferences, FCM Threshold Preferences, Criticality Profile Editor, Customize Taxonomy.
- "Preferences (Filtered)" dialog tree includes: Annotation Policy, Auto Save, Features, General, Language, Libraries, Modeling (selected), Organization Details, Problems, Propagation Table, Reporting, User Profile.
- "Modeling" pane: Font "Arial, 8 pt, Normal" (Change Font), Default Measurement Unit dropdown ("Imperial"), System Element Text Width (default 100). "New Items": checkbox "Automatically highlight the name field for default named items". "Project Explorer": Double Click Action dropdown ("Open System Model"). "Connections": Selected Connection Type ("Functional Line"), Line Style ("Bend"), checkboxes "Show Flow Connection Label on Out Flows" / "on Connectors", Flow Connection Label Text dropdown ("Flow Name"). - "Bond Analysis" pane: "Continue analysis when Bond model contains errors?" radio Prompt/Always/Never. "Continue analysis when Bond model is not controllable?" radio Prompt/Always/Never. "Power variable taxonomy display options": Generic / Domain Specific radios, with example: "Generic: 6.Effort = 6.Flow * 6.Resistance" / "Domain Specific: 6E.Torque = 6F.Angular velocity * 6.Resistance". "Bond Simulation Parameters": Failure Activation Time (50), Simulation Time (100), Simulation Step (0.005), Perturbed Response Margin % (0.50), Amplitude (0.5), Perturbation Ratio (0.9), Resistance Factor (2.0).
Step 6: Save New MADE Project
