MADE 3.9.1 User Manual > Modelling > Functional Models > Flow Property Response Settings
Flow Property Response Settings
The settings associated with property responses are used to populate narrative columns which provide additional information in FMEA/FMECA reports. Response settings are visible when the system model, functions and failure diagram editor are opened. The examples below are based on the failure diagram editor.
To access flow property response narrative fields:
- Ensure the Properties viewer is present.
- Select the appropriate functional failure mode from the failure diagram or flow property in the functions definition page.
- Select the "Narratives" tab in the properties viewer.
- Enter a narrative for the specified response type (See figure below).

Criticality Tab
Each failure response under the criticality tab represents a specific response type. There are two types of failure responses: "High" and "Low".
The failure response tabs for "High" and "Low" are displayed at the top of the properties page and are based on flow properties and activated fault injection responses. A list of responses associated with their corresponding functional flows are described in the Function Flow Taxonomy page.
Is Failure?
The "Is Failure?" option allows the user to define whether a High or Low failure response corresponds to a failure of the item. This option affects Reliability analyses and functional failures available in Classic RCM analysis.

MIL-STD-1629a (Quant) Tab
This page is used to display and edit failure mode ratio and failure effect probability sliders for high and low failure responses. These option are used when generating FMECA reports relating to the MIL-STD-1629A standard. This tab is only visible in the SRA module.

ISO26262 Tab
This page is used to display and edit Controllability, Occurrence & Severity sliders for high and low failure responses. These option are used when generating FMECA reports relating to the ISO26262 standard. This tab is only visible in the SRA module.

MIL-STD-882E Tab
This page is used to display and edit Probability Level/ Software Control and Severity for failure responses and hazards. These options are used when generating FMECA reports relating to the MIL-STD-882E standard. This tab is only visible in the SRA module.
