MADE 3.9.1 User Manual > Chart Types

Causes of Failure

This chart type displays the relative contributions for failure concepts (cause,

mechanism, fault, functional failure mode) specified by the user, which are present in

the system model which develop into failure modes.

Relative contributions are determined by aggregating unique failure cause types from

all components and parts in the system. All paths are assumed to have equal weighting

in terms of probability.

for a component. Each bar represents the relative contribution of an individual cause

type, while the cumulative line displays the summation of each previous cause type.
