Importing Model Data

Elements can be imported from:

  • MADE Projects (.made)
  • CAD files (.step)

To conduct an import:

  1. Select 'File' from the main menu and select 'Import'.

  2. Select 'Browse' in the Wizard and select the file to import.

  3. Select a file from the Open dialog then select 'OK'. Select 'Next' to proceed.

  4. The imported project is shown in the Import Project Explorer (left section) while the currently opened MADE project is displayed on the right.

  5. Drag items from the Import Project Explorer into any level of the current project.

  6. Importing a Component or Subsystem will also import its structure and required elements.

  7. Once dragging the desired imported elements is completed, select 'Finish' to complete the import process.

The user can then use the Project Explorer viewer (09-ViewsEditors/03Viewers/13ProjectExplorerView.html) to locate the newly imported data.
