Model-Based RCM Editor
The Model-Based RCM (MBRCM) editor provides a centralized interface for managing all RCM analyses within a project. It supports the creation of new analyses sourced from FMEA data, which can be either imported into MADE from an excel or generated directly from the MADE model. Updates to the FMEA source allow the creation of a new version of the analysis, ensuring alignment with the latest data. The MBRCM editor facilitates collaboration through contributor profiles, logging all changes made during the analysis against the active contributor. This logged data can be utilized to generate audit reports, ensuring traceability and accountability.
MBRCM streamlines the RCM process by summarizing the FMEA to assess functions and failure modes efficiently. It incorporates MSG-3 and RCM II decision logic for evaluating failure modes and allows users to import custom decision logics to meet specific program requirements. It supports the definition of maintenance actions, assessing their feasibility, and conducting trade studies to identify optimal strategies that mitigate failure mode impacts. The maintenance action worksheets display critical metrics, including item MTTF, baseline failure mode probabilities, and revised failure probabilities based on the effectiveness of defined maintenance actions. Cost metrics, task details, and availability metrics such as downtime, MTBM, MTTR, and operational availability are also integrated, providing a comprehensive view of performance.
Additionally, MBRCM summarizes baseline and revised metrics at both item and failure mode levels. Interactive charts enhance visualization by showing the assessment status of functions and failure modes, enabling users to track progress and outcomes effectively. This robust suite of features ensures MBRCM is a versatile and efficient tool for RCM analysis and optimization.
A prerequisite for initiating the analysis is to define the maintenance task taxonomy. The taxonomy must be configured in advance, as it is referenced when additional maintenance tasks need to be added in addition to those identified through the task evaluation decision tree during the analysis (see the Maintenance Type Terminology chapter).
