End and Next Effect

End-Effects

The end-effect is the effect of a failure mode at the highest system hierarchy level that is assigned for analysis by the user.

End-effect is set at the system level by default, however it may be set to any level within the system hierarchy (except part level).

To assign the end effect, select (right-click) an item (System/Assembly/Component) and select the "End Effect Item" option from the menu.

Next-Effects

This is the consequence of a failure mode on the status or operation of the next higher level of system hierarchy to the system element from which the failure mode originated.

Unlike the top level, the next level is not specified by the user, but is automatically identified by MADE.
